Travel Grant

A travel grant of 10.000 SEK is available for a urologist or a resident in urology from any of the member organisations of NUF who wants to visit a urological department in another Nordic country.

The visit should last at least one week. A report must be written and submitted to the NUF board. This will be published in the NUF Newsletter afterwards.

This is a once in a life-time opportunity to learn something new and at the same time make social contacts with other Nordic colleagues.

There is a maximum of two grants per year, which can be applied for the 1st of March (Autumn) and the 1st of September (Spring). Applications should be addressed to the general secretary of NUF, Karl Erlingur Oddason (karleo@landspitali.is).

Explore Reconstructive and Neuro Urology in Oslo

Join a one-week exchange program at the Department for Reconstructive Urology and Neuro Urology, Rikshospitalet, Oslo. Observe and engage in advanced procedures such as incontinence surgery, urethral and penile reconstruction, benign urinary deviations, and bladder reconstructions.

Participants are also invited to observe outpatient clinics, offering insights into a wide range of benign urological cases. Schedules may be tailored to accommodate specific interests.

Advance Your Skills in Reconstructive Urology

Join a one-week exchange program at Aarhus University Hospital, Department of Urology, and gain valuable insights into advanced uro-oncologic surgery. Observe procedures across three specialized teams:

Bladder Cancer Team: Cystectomies, urinary diversions, and penile cancer surgeries using robotic and open techniques.
Kidney Cancer Team: Nephrectomies, urothelial cancer surgeries, kidney transplants, and dialysis access surgery.
Prostate Cancer Team: Robotic-assisted laparoscopic prostatectomies and other uro-oncologic procedures.

Participants will also observe outpatient clinics, pre- and postoperative assessments, and day-case treatments such as TURB, orchiectomies, and ureteroscopies. Opportunities to tailor your experience to specific interests are available.
