Consultant Urologist at the Department of Urology, Turku University Hospital. With an MD from the University of Turku in 2011, I became a Specialist in Urology in 2018 and a Fellow of the European Board of Urology in 2019. In 2021, I earned my PhD, focusing on novel imaging and image-guided therapy of prostate cancer.
Recently, in 2023, I was appointed as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Turku. Alongside clinical practice, I have served as a clinical teacher in surgery at the University of Turku and conducted independent research at the Turku HIFU Centre and Turku Urology Research Unit. My current focus lies primarily in the field of urological cancers.

Grew up in Værløse (north of Copenhagen), Denmark. MD from the University of Aarhus in 2005. Resident in Urology at Aarhus and Aalborg University Hospital. Became a Specialist in Urology in 2020 and Fellow of the European Board of Urology in 2022 and certified Senior Consultant Urologist at Aarhus University Hospital, Aarhus, Denmark in 2023.
PhD thesis (in Bladder Cancer with special emphasis on robotic surgery)) from the University of Aarhus in 2017. Since 2020 Associate Professor at Aarhus University. Main research interests: Urologic malignancies, Robotic surgery, Simulation and surgical training.
Past: Chairperson of the Danish Society of Residents in Urology (YDU – yngre danske urologer), Vicechair of the collaboration group – Nordic Residents of Urology (NRU), NCO of the European Society of Residents in Urology (ESRU), member of the Danish Association of Urology (DUS) and member of the National Educational Board of Urology.

Karin Margrethe Hjelle (b. 1967) is from Nordfjordeid. She holds a medical degree from Trondheim and Bergen (1993) and first worked as a resident physician at Haraldsplass Deaconess Hospital. She earned her PhD in 2018 at the University of Bergen with the dissertation: “A population-based study on Kidney Cancer in Norway. Aspects of biopsy use, surgical treatment and outcome.” She is a specialist in general surgery and urology and works as a senior consultant in the urology department at Haukeland University Hospital.
NUF Treasurer - Sweden
Consultant urologist and medical director at the Department of Urology, Umeå University Hospital. Born 1957, MD at the University of Umeå 1985. Subspeciality neurourology, urodynamics and reconstructive urology. PhD 2021 with studies on neurogenic bladder complications after spinal cord injury.
Started my medical career in Umeå, then worked for nearly 30 years at several hospitals in Stockholm. Now back in the north of Sweden.
